At Sussex Ice Cream Co (our sister company) we make award-winning ice cream & sorbet handcrafted by chefs. Our recipes have earned 14 gold stars at the Great Taste Awards since 2015.

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our ice cream production team. You will support the preparation, mixing, and handling of ingredients to create high-quality ice cream products while maintaining strict hygiene and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing ingredients for production
• Support the Chef in developing and producing ice cream flavours and recipes
• Operate kitchen equipment
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and storage areas
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management
• Help with packaging and labelling of finished products

Requirements

• Previous kitchen or food production experience preferred (not essential)
• Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety standards
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
• Team player with good communication skills
• Willingness to learn and take direction

Desirable Skills

• Experience working with desserts or frozen products
• Passion for ice cream and food creativity
• Understanding of ingredient handling and storage
