We are looking for a enthusiastic person to join our friendly team and learn a wealth of useful office skills.

You may already have some experience in the areas we are looking for or perhaps you have energy and are keen to learn; either way - provided that you have a willingness to learn the office aspects of our operation and how our processes work - then we'd really like to hear from you.

We are piling and ground working company that covers the South East of England, we design and project manage all aspects of piling (foundation creation) for our clients in the construction industry. We are a medium sized organisation of about 30 people. Some of us are in the office and some of us are out on sites at our various projects.


Your day to day duties (once you have finished your training) will include:

  • Liaising between clients and project staff (full training will be given - provided that you have attention to detail and a professional manner you will pick this up easily)
  • Answering the telephone
  • Keeping on top of our email enquiries (forwarding to the relevant person / finding out the answer to questions and replying etc)
  • Making sure all project correspondence and paperwork is filed correctly 
  • Day to day support to the Project Manager and the Contracts Manager (both of whom are very friendly) which will involve using Microsoft Word and phoning suppliers
  • Negotiating rates with suppliers (once you have enough experience)


You will be working on some of these tasks from the beginning (with guidance from the team) and as are learn more you will be given more responsibility.

In order to be successful in this role you will need:

  • Attention to detail
  • A polite and friendly manner
  • To be willing to learn as there is the potential to progress towards project management (if desired)
  • To be capable of multi tasking when the office is busy
  • To have access to a reliable car as we are in a rural location
  • To be able to type at a reasonable speed and accuracy
  • To be professional and friendly speaking on the telephone
  • To have a good command of written English
  • To have a good eye for detail (eg to spot typo's, and addition errors etc before emails / quotes go to customers)
  • To have a flexible and adaptable mindset
  • To have a desire to learn more and to develop yourself within the company (we will support you in this throughout)
  • To be familiar with Microsoft Word
  • To have some experience using Microsoft Excel
  • To be confident using email (We use Outlook and can train you if you have not used that before)
