Senior Business Analyst

Circa £40,000-47,000 per annum (flexible)

A leading regional business that has been recognised as one of the fastest growing and most innovative in its sector is currently looking for a Business Analyst to join their finance function. Reporting to the Finance Director, this newly created role has arisen as part of an exciting transformation project within the finance function. It will be focussed on developing, analysing and enhancing financial information and awareness across the business to support key business decisions.

This individual will interact with a wide variety of both internal and external stakeholders and present financial information that can be understood by both finance and non-finance staff. They will have input on projects that will make an immediate and tangible difference to the continued success of this growing organisation.

Overview of duties:

• Development of improved management reporting including the identification and reporting of new KPI's.
• Undertake profitability analysis by service and business area.
• Work closely with business units and carry out post matter analysis to assess if transaction was completed on time together with the predicted cost and hours.
• Benchmarking of performance both internally and externally.
• Development of improved systems and processes.
• Present findings to senior management; provide recommendations.
• Support the achievement of the company's strategic pricing objectives.
• Provide financial input for new business pitches.
• Present accurate and timely financial management information to the Finance Director, COO and Managing Director.
• Prepare and coordinate planning cycles (forecast, budget and business plan) within the business.

Candidate requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years' experience working within a commercially focused business environment and excellent commercial understanding.
• Previous experience of managing projects and in particular post project review / analysis.
• Experience of working within a fast paced environment.
• Good knowledge and understanding of excel, power point and Microsoft skills
• A strategic thinker with excellent communication skills
• Strong sense of teamwork.
• Hands-on attitude.
• Ability to influence others.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure.
