Orchard House is a fifteen bedded mixed gender unit which offers care and accommodation for children who have a severe learning disability, normally from the age of 10 to 18 years, who have been assessed as needing a residential placement. An individual approach is taken in which our services adapt to meet the needs and wishes of the child and family.
Orchard House is purpose built accommodation standing in its own grounds about a mile from Cuckfield. Nearby is the town of Haywards Heath.

Orchard House is staffed by an experienced team of trained residential care staff, all of whom have extensive knowledge of the problems young people, particularly those who have disabilities, can face in modern life..

The home functions as 3 units. The long stay unit is a homely arrangement offering a sitting room, dining room and all the children are able to have single bedrooms. The short stay unit has a large dining room and separate lounge. It has a combination of single and double rooms. The two units are connected by a shared room used for craft and other activities. The Lodge provides a smaller environment designed to meet specific needs of one or two young people.
