An award-winning international business based in Steyning requires a technically competent Assistant Accountant, with an excellent work ethic and skills in reconciliation work and strong Excel, to join them in a newly created role. This individual will report to a qualified Head of Finance and Management Accountant as the third most senior finance team member and help guide a small, collaborative team.

Role overview:

Reconciling multi-currency bank accounts

Working through and resolving queries on bank reconciliations

Preparing weekly and monthly MI reports

Designing reports for new KPI targets

Reconciling statements

Preparing, posting and reconciling monthly sales figures

Inputting and authorising payments using online banking system

Purchase ledger remittance advices

Credit control for individual and corporate clients

Assisting with Spanish VAT and withholding tax returns

General finance administrative duties for all European entities as per request of Head of Finance

Ad hoc duties as determined from time to time across all European entities

Candidate requirements:

Part-newly qualified Accountant.

Skills in reconciliation work and resolving discrepancies, alongside confidence in resolving queries and dealing with incomplete records.

Ideally experience in a multi-currency environment (negotiable).

Strong Excel skills – pivots, lookups etc.
