About the Role

High Hurstwood CEP School is located in a beautiful part of the Weald countryside. We are a popular school with an excellent local reputation. Indeed we have recently been judged to be 'Outstanding' in a recent Ofsted Inspection (February 2017). We benefit from being a Strategic Partner of St Marks Teaching School and also work closely with a range of other schools within the Wealden Education Improvement Partnership. We have high expectations of both staff and children.

We are looking for an inspirational person to take on the role of lunchtime Play Leader . The successful candidate will be expected to organise and run a variety of lunchtime activities with groups of children (training will be provided). The afternoon hours linked to this post will include undertaking a range of activities with small groups of children e.g. Sensory Circuits, mini-movement breaks and Social Skills groups. Part of the afternoons will also be spent supporting groups of children within the classroom.

Please note that as we are a Church of England Controlled school the successful candidate will be expected to be fully supportive of the Christian ethos of our school.  We can offer the successful candidate: - enthusiastic and well behaved children - a friendly and supportive staff team - a well resourced school, situated in beautiful countryside.

Please do contact the school if you wish to discuss the post in more detail or to arrange a visit.

Additional Information

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.

From 6 April 2011 the Home Office has placed a permanent restriction on the number of migrant workers that all Tier 2 (General) Sponsors can recruit. Due to the restrictions we cannot guarantee that individuals that meet the requirements of the Points-based Immigration System will be issued with clearance to obtain work permits.   This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All staff will be expected to hold or be willing to obtain Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau).

All school based staff have the responsibility for promoting the safeguarding and welfare of children.  All school staff should be aware of the school’s Child Protection and Safeguarding Policy and work in accordance with this document at all times.
