Financial Controller

Salary: £25,000 – 30,000pa DOE + benefits



Harvey John is working closely with a large manufacturing company based inCrawleyon recruiting a Financial Controller to oversee and lead the company's accounting function. Reporting to the company's Managing Director, this role is of pivotal importance to the business as this person will not only ensure best accounting procedures are adhered to but also be involved in business planning and strategic development. The successful candidate will be self motivated, technically strong, focused, adaptable and ready to take on a fresh challenge.



It is necessary that candidates have previous experience in a similar role which involved managing staff. In addition, candidates need to have strong Excel skills, be very familiar with Sage and ideally come from a manufacturing background. Strong candidates with relevant industry experience and no accounting qualifications can be considered but someone with the AAT qualification or working towards the ACCA, ACA, CIMA is highly preferable.



Overview of duties (not limited to):



- Month end

- Cost accounting

- Resolving discrepancies

- Cashflow forecasts (weekly)

- Monthly management reports

- Financial review and analysis of monthly reports

- Prepare and review budgets and expenses

- To propose new accounting policies and procedures to improve efficiency and drive business performance

- VAT returns

- Payroll
