For this role you will need to demonstrate sound experience in working with survivors of domestic abuse and strong assessment, safety planning and support skills.  Strong team working skills, resilience and flexibility, and a positive attitude are essential due to the challenging and changing nature of the working environment, while skills for working with groups and children and families are also desirable. The post holder will be expected to work across services, including Access & Outreach and Accommodation services. However the role will be primarily based at the Brighton Women's refuge supporting the residents to secure safe move on accommodation. On call duties will also be required. 

The Domestic Violence Caseworker will work alongside colleagues in a co-ordinated team response to assess, triage and provide 1:1 support to service users. In this role you will work with clients and their families in our range of services according to service needs.

  • The Case Worker will provide information, advice and support for women and children, via phone work, one to one and/or group interventions, in the Brighton & Hove area who have experienced domestic violence.
  • They will work with partner agencies to jointly provide support and services.
  • They will have particular regard to the needs of minority groups, children and young people.
  • They will help to maintain agreed monitoring systems ensuring accurate recording of client contacts and outputs.
