About the Role

Are you an experienced Children's Services Manager who is ready to join a high-performing and innovative Children’s Services Department?

Our Children's Safeguarding Unit is looking for Independent Reviewing Officer/Child Protection Advisors to chair Child Protection Conferences and statutory review meetings for Looked After Children. The role provides a high level of quality assurance in respect of the formulation and implementation of outcome focussed children’s plans. A commitment to promoting the participation of children, young people and their families in all aspects of the assessment, reviewing and planning process underpins our approach.

Thanks to our talented workforce and experienced managers, we have created a strong, effective service and are rated as one of the top performing authorities in the South. As a result, we have won two Local Government Chronicle Awards for services to children and business transformation around the early help agenda.

Motivated to improve outcomes for children

We are looking for highly-motivated social work qualified professional who understand how to improve outcomes for children and have a proven track record in statutory children’s services.

You will be an experienced manager with strong management and leadership skills.

Your practice must be evidence-based and you must be up-to-date on current theories and research. You will receive individualised support through a range of training and development opportunities to enable you to succeed in this role and to develop your career.

Additional Information

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
