Two Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) positions have arisen in the Crawley Independent Living Team who are based at Thomas Bennett Community College in Crawley. Delivering a crucial part of Adult services; our focus is on working with people in their own homes to support continued independence and Well-being. Our specialist skills include prescription of equipment and housing adaptations (full training given), however our assessments and interventions are holistic and wide ranging. OTAs are well supported by qualified Occupational Therapists (OTs), but carry their own caseload. The Crawley Independent Living team consists of qualified OTs and OTAs. We are an enthusiastic team who look forward to welcoming and inducting a new member of staff. Adult services are undergoing some changes at present and there are exciting new initiatives taking place in our area. In the future there will be the potential for a career grade of OTA (subject to a 'progression' process) and in recent years the Service has been able to second a small number of OTAs into training (subject to both a WSCC application and process, and direct University application).
