About the Role
Bowden House School is a special, weekly residential school for up to 40 boys, committed to supporting students between the ages of 9 – 16+ who present with a range of complex, social, emotional and mental health difficulties with characteristics on the Autistic Spectrum; ADHD and mild learning difficulties.
The school is maintained by The London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
We are seeking an individual who is caring, kind, passionate and has the ability to lead and guide a team of Houseparents and Care Support Workers.
It is essential that the successful applicant has a ‘can do’ attitude, is flexible in their approach to work, has excellent communication skills and effective organisational capacity. You must have the aptitude to keep staff motivated and enthusiastic, in addition to being a role model and mentor for other care team colleagues.
You should have significant previous experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour and must have a relevant Level 4 or 5 Diploma.
You should be happy to work a shift rota system that includes working some Sundays and have had a full driving licence, D1 is an advantage.
