Interim Finance Manager

Full time for 2-3 months

Award winning business based in Burgess Hill requires an immediately available and experienced Finance Manager to provide interim assistance to the finance function. This person will cover a period of time in-between when the current job holder leaves (in next 2 weeks) and a new member of staff is recruited in the New Year. This person can also be considered for the permanent position if suitable.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and Operations as part of a small finance team, this individual will manage 2 reports and liaise directly with the senior leadership team.

Overview of duties:

• Sales and sales ledger management.
• Payments – ensuring suppliers are paid on-time, ensuring appropriate controls and preparing weekly and other payment runs for approval by the Director.
• Reconciling daily bank statements.
• Posting receipts to appropriate accounts.
• Updating weekly cash flow forecast.
• Producing and submitting quarterly VAT returns to HMRC.
• Submitting monthly EC sales list to HMRC.
• Managing staff payroll.
• Producing weekly and monthly sales and stock reports.
• Performing month-end procedures – including reviewing accuracy of postings, reconciling control accounts, calculating prepayments/accruals and other adjustments.
• Maintaining Fixed Asset Register.
• Production of Trial Balance and full month-end management accounts, with variance analysis of performance to budget.
• Assisting budget preparation.
• Managing 2 staff.
