Location:  Uckfield Working pattern: Part-time, Term-time only Fixed term for: until 10 July 2017 in first instance

About the Role

ACRES has an exciting opportunity for an inspiring, motivational and enthusiastic maths tutor to join our Functional Skills Maths team. Our functional skills maths courses let people study in practical ways, applying core skills to real life situations so that the things they learn come in useful day after day, at work or home.

- You may have experience of teaching adults (not essential as training will be provided).

We will provide you with:

 -Appropriate training throughout the year, including the Level 3 Award in Education and Training if you don’t have a teaching qualification.

 -A professional and experienced mentor to support you.

- Support to help you succeed.

You will design, deliver, assess and evaluate a course to suit the needs of the group, taking into account differing levels of skills and experience, enabling all to achieve their aims.  You will work closely with our Business Development and Quality, Learning and Development teams who will support your work.

The vacancy is at our Uckfield Centre, on a Monday evening from 6.45pm – 9pm and runs until 10 July 2017.

 The Adult College for Rural East Sussex provides adult learning in and around the towns of Battle, Crowborough, Hailsham, Heathfield, Uckfield and Wadhurst.

This post is subject to an Enhanced DBS check or Enhanced check for Regulated Activity with the Disclosure & Barring Services (previously the Criminal Records Bureau). Please note that we require evidence of an overseas police check if you have lived or worked abroad.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is part-time or term-time only.

Work Permits: we may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Border Agency’s Points-based Immigration System.
